Phoenixville, PA Air Conditioner & Heater Repair

History

The Phoenixville area has been continuously inhabited since the early 18th century. Upon its settlement around 1730, the village was known as Monavon and was home to a varied set of English and French farmers. During the 19th century, the region became more ethnically diverse and eventually hosted a sizable German population. During this time, Phoenixville played host to some of the United States’ most prolific mills, including the famous Phoenix Iron Works. Although the mills have long since closed, Phoenixville remains an important bedroom community for Philadelphia and the surrounding employment centers.

Geography

Phoenixville is located in northeastern Chester County, Pennsylvania. It’s within 30 minutes by car of downtown Philadelphia and is served by several important thoroughfares, including US-422 and I-76. Much of the town is tucked into a broad bend of the Schuylkill River, providing excellent water views and broad swathes of fertile bottomland. Although the areas closest to the river tend to be flat, Phoenixville’s southern stretches boast some elevation change.

Population and Demographics

Phoenixville has a year-round population of about 17,000. Although the town was formerly a noted employment center, many residents now work outside of its boundaries. Philadelphia, King of Prussia and Norristown are all popular commuting destinations for local residents. Phoenixville’s population comes from all walks of life. Young families, childless professionals and empty-nesters are all well-represented here.
