Limerick, PA Air Conditioner & Heater Repair

History

Limerick has been settled since the tail end of the 17th century. In fact, the nascent village was named for the Irish hometown of William Evans, one of its first inhabitants. For much of Limerick’s history, the township was an agricultural, thinly populated zone that served as an important source of fresh food for the rapidly growing city of Philadelphia. As Philadelphia’s suburbs expanded in the mid-20th century, this began to change. These days, Limerick is a prosperous exurban community with ties to other parts of Montgomery and Chester Counties.

Geography

Limerick is located in northwestern Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. It’s roughly 30 miles from the center of Philadelphia and about 10 miles from King of Prussia. Local thoroughfares include U.S. Highway 422 and Pennsylvania Highway 29. The area’s terrain is gently rolling and boasts ample tree cover. Since Limerick was largely developed after the advent of the automobile, its built environment is far more spread out than that of some other southeastern Pennsylvania cities.

Population and Demographics

Limerick has a population of between 16,000 and 18,000. This figure has increased rapidly during the past 20 years and looks poised to grow as new housing developments spring up on the settlement’s outskirts. Locals tend to be a bit more affluent than those in neighboring communities, but there remains a vibrant cross-section of inhabitants here. Many locals commute to Philadelphia on a daily basis or work in nearby Pottstown.

Things to Do in Limerick, Pennsylvania

Limerick has a bevy of historical attractions. These include the William and Mordecai Evans House, a colonial structure named after the town’s “founding father,” as well as the Isaac Hunsberger House. The latter structure was home to a noted German immigrant during Limerick’s early history. Meanwhile, local shoppers enjoy access to Philadelphia Premium Outlets, one of the region’s premier shopping destinations. Landis Creek Golf Club and Turtle Creek Golf Course offer excellent shot-making opportunities. The Pottstown-Limerick Airport is a popular site for general aviation enthusiasts.

Climate and Weather

Like much of the rest of southeastern Pennsylvania, Limerick has a continental climate that’s marked by cold winters and warm summers. Snowfall is fairly common during the winter, but truly frigid conditions are mercifully rare. During the summer, periods of humidity and heat can be interrupted with strong to severe thunderstorms. The transitional seasons tend to be breezy and pleasant.
